The issue of race is a polarizing topic laced with emotion and even fear. It’s often an underlying issue that goes unspoken in our everyday lives that ignored and unaddressed seeks to divide and foster misunderstanding and division.
Our Racial Justice Initiative seeks to provide opportunities for diverse groups to examine where race relations lie 50 years after the March on Washington; and examine opportunities to promote racial reconciliation.
Our Student Led Movement is called Difficult Dialogues: An Intercollegiate Seminar on Race, Class, and Gender. Led and created by Change Agent, Tyra Beamon,in dialogue and actions.
Presentations designed for elementary and middle school aged students seek to introduce the concept of tolerance, respect and appreciation for diversity.
Home based conversations are an ongoing opportunity for dialogue and understanding.
